Airco Equipment Maintenance Technician - Airco in Mount Vernon, Ohio

Job Description: The equipment maintenance technician performs various functions and provides expertise in the repair, maintenance, installation, and enhancement of machinery and equipment.

Duties: Performs some or all of the following:

  1. Troubleshoots to diagnose problems; repairs and performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
  2. Modifies and tests equipment to improve systems uptime and reliability.
  3. Assists in maintaining a clean work environment and follows all safety policies and procedures strictly
  4. Maintains and updates all process documentation and updates and reviews daily maintenance logs.
  5. Supervises equipment modifications for process changes, new models, and expansions needs.
  6. Undertakes and documents tests associated with installation, qualification and/or calibration of equipment and machinery.
  7. Troubleshoots and repairs various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, diesel, and hydraulic equipment and systems involving the isolation of the malfunction parts, disassembly of equipment and repair/replacement of faulty components.
  8. Carries out design, development, and implementation of preventative maintenance programs on machinery and mechanical systems.
  9. Uses equipment manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to aid in troubleshooting and repairing of tools and equipment.
  10. Looks into service requests for repairs and maintenance to determine nature of problem and recommend appropriate solutions.
  11. Undertakes the sourcing and ordering of required parts, supplies, and services.
  12. Ensures that equipment is in a safe and working condition and utilizes the Lock-Out Tag-Out program and ensures the application of Quality Policies and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities.

Education/Credentials:

Associate's degree in electrical, mechanical, or technology related degree, or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, mechanic certificate; or High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Knowledge of paint pumps and compressors preferred.

Specific Skills:

  • Must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter who can manage projects and make decisions.
  • Willing to perform physically demanding tasks like extended periods of standing, bending, kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching, etc. and to occasionally lift more than 50 lbs, as needed.
