Educational Service Center Early Childhood Education Teacher in Mount Vernon, Ohio

Job Title:  Early Childhood Education Teacher

*Minimum Qualifications:  *Bachelor's Degree and an appropriate Ohio Teaching License

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Implements the curriculum as directed, including lessons based on the needs, interests, and abilities of students and lessons that implement State Content Standards and madated criteria.

  • Uses the criteria of positive discipline including practical and resonale judgement when supervising and disciplining students.

  • Maintains appropriate student management in and out of the classroom.

  • Implements the correct Crisis Prevention Institute procedures as trained.

  • Supervises and trains classroom educational aides in instructional intervention strategies, school routines, use of technology, and student supervision.

  • Maintains condidentiality with regard to information about students.

  • Establishes good communication and interprets program goals and objectives with parents.

  • Collaborates with parents to create educational goals for their child.

  • Attends meetings and trainin that enhancce professional teaching.

  • Documents and provides reports to the home school and parents.

  • Collaborates with related service providers in establishing and implementing goals and schedudules.

  • Adheres to and implements policies of the Knox ESC Governing Board.

  • Supervises students and implements the curriculum on the playgound and in the play areas.

  • Assists with ODE procedural safeguards related to students with a disability.

  • Contacts parents when there has been a change in student performance, behaaior functioning, or when new behaviors are noted.

  • Prepares daily lesson plans describing content standards and how the standards are being assessed.

  • Completes the required documentation including Early Leaning Assessments, documentation of the IEP, and behavior documentation.

  • Assist with daily operations such as sanitizing equipment and supplies.

  • Prepare lessons with appropriate items for optimal student learning.

  • Delivers services to all students.

  • Consults with special eduacation teachers to provide intervention/prevention.

  • Conducts meetings in a professional manner.

  • Works as an effective team member with other administrative and educational consultants from the educational service center.

  • performs other related duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor, school principal and/or superintendent.
