This position will provide student support and guidance throughout the Child Development Associate (CDA) cohort experience. The Coach demonstrates exemplary early childhood professional practices that serve as models for students. The Coach provides ongoing formative and informative feedback to students that are cohesively connected to the CDA curriculum throughout the cohort experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain confidentiality.
  2. Assist with effective time management.
  3. Assist with identifying goals/setting productivity goals.
  4. Assist with securing tools to facilitate success (academic support, barrier relief).
  5. Weekly one-on-one meetings (virtual or on-ground).
  6. Biweekly cohort meeting (virtual or on-ground).
  7. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures and compliance guidelines.
  8. Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act),a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College's Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Ability

  • Knowledge of CDA Educator Pathways.
  • Knowledge of CDA Competency Standards/ Functional Areas.
  • Knowledge of CDA certification process (PD training, portfolio development).
  • Knowledge of Mid ECE course content.
  • Ability to access CDA resources.

Education, Certification, Licensure:

  • AAS, BA or BS in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • CDA PD Specialist status preferred

Experience:

  • AAS degree: three years working directly with children and families in a quality, licensed early childhood setting, plus two years of supervising the professional development of at least one other adult.
  • BA or BS degree: two years working directly with children and families in a quality, licensed early childhood setting, plus one year supervising the professional development of at least one other adult.

Working Environment:

The job responsibilities of this position are performed in an office environment which requires a professional image and demeanor, on-time attendance and reliability. The environment has minimal, if any, discomfort due to heat, cold or dust. There is minimal noise within the environment.
