Description

Under direction of the Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, the Dean, Enrollment Management will provide leadership and oversee the day to day operations of the following departments: Outreach & Admissions (Including International Programs), Registration, Financial Aid, Educational Opportunity Fund, NJ STARs, Military Education/Veteran Services and Student Accounts as well as special projects. The Dean of Enrollment Management integrates all aspects of RCBC’s enrollment process including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of effective student -centered, strategic recruitment, enrollment, and retention programs, in coordination with other division leadership. The Dean’s primary outcomes are long-term strategic enrollment management and growth; highly effective data analysis to drive decisions supporting the EM division and college; implementation of innovative strategies to improve access and success of prospective and current students; the development of productive partnerships with internal and external influencers; the implementation of assessment planning; and the development of a highly effective team across all levels of responsibility to achieve these goals.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the efforts of the Enrollment Management Area. Streamline processes, policies and initiatives among departments and align with Student Success departments to maximize enrollment results.

  • Coordinate with the Office of Institutional Research to evaluate and analyze data; utilize data to design recruitment programs and admissions initiatives; ensure the use of assessment results that link results to planning of enrollment management programs.

  • Develop measurement matrices to evaluate success of initiatives and areas that require additional focus. Utilize results to develop, design and implement short- and long- term strategies to improve enrollment initiatives.

  • Work in concert with division leadership; to ensure initiatives and strategic planning is aligned and communication among departments is continuous and meaningful.

  • Under the direction of the SVP, develop assessment plans to ensure all areas are meeting meaningful goals and objectives aligned with division and institutional goals.

  • Develop communication strategies to strengthen working relationships between team members and strengthen the commitment and morale of all staff members.

  • Develop and expand training and development for all members of the Enrollment Management team, based upon best practice models and divisional priorities.

  • Increase automation leading to more efficient processes across the Enrollment Management division.

  • Directly supervise and evaluate supervisory staff responsible for Enrollment Management Teams. Instill accountability within each department, meet frequently to discuss expectations, follow up on results and identify barriers to departmental success.

  • Expand and strengthen relationships with partners, including but not limited to in and out of county school districts, especially for dual and concurrent enrollment partnerships.

  • Continuously identify areas of strength and weakness within respective Team departments. Communicate this information to the SVP on an on-going basis to develop and implement strategic responses that align with student needs and changes within higher education.

  • Participate in local and regional post-secondary meetings/conferences on relevant topics, as needed.

  • Ensure the development and promotion of diversity in all student-focused initiatives to create an all-inclusive college experience.

  • Assist with the Institutional Strategic and Annual Planning for the Enrollment Management and Student Success Division including goals and objectives that support RCBC’s strategic plan.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:

Master's Degree in related discipline required.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years in a supervisory position related to enrollment or student success within a higher education institution.

  • Experience in enrollment management and/or student services with a demonstrated understanding of how the two areas work together.

  • Experience with research and the use and application of data for achieving enrollment and student success related goals.

Skills/Abilities /Knowledge /Other Requirements

  • Strong leadership and management skills in multiple areas of enrollment management including admissions, recruitment, marketing, registration, financial aid and/or student retention.

  • Excellent oral/written communications and interpersonal skills with superior competencies creating/delivering presentations to various audiences (i.e. senior college executives and boards, faculty, counselors, students and parents.

  • Ability to develop and implement enrollment research for: (1) designing enrollment strategies based on assessment outcomes to support the College’s enrollment goals and (2) communicating findings within the College to develop awareness of the value of integrating an enrollment management culture throughout every division of the college.

  • Demonstrated ability to expand professional development among department staff to position the College as a leader in the systems/services designed to improve the quality of students’ college experience.

  • Proven organizational and leadership skills to reorganize, restructure and reengineer to achieve optimum enrollments practices.

  • Ability to lead and lead multiple departmental budgets and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, events and student-centric campaigns.

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
