Tompkins Community Bank Trust Assistant in Mount Kisco, New York

Overview

This position location is flexible to work at be located at our Corporate Headquarters office in Ithaca, NY, or Syracuse, NY, or Brewster, NY. Selected candidate must be able to work in the office five (5) days a week.

This position is responsible for a ssist ing Trust Officers with all aspects of trust administration including, new account opening, investment and account review process, discretionary distributions, bill payment, request for checks, transaction activity, marketing and client support . Provide exceptional service to clients in adherence to C ompany standards, follows policies and procedures to ensure compliance with C ompany and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Customer Service related tasks including but not limited to:

  • New account set-up.

  • Closing of accounts.

  • Deposits/Disbursements.

  • Account status changes.

  • Support officers as follows:

  • Prepare portfolio reviews and recommendations for rebalancing.

  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and correspondence.

  • Review daily cash reports.

  • Process Discretionary Distributions from Trusts.

  • Process Bill Payments.

  • Process and analyze incoming funds in accordance with account agreements and established procedures.

  • Respond to and interpret requests for checks, transaction activity, statement mailings, address changes, tax information, trust account reports, wires, etc. in accordance with account agreements and established procedures.

  • Scan and organize reports, correspondence, forms, reports, and other client and department information

  • Meet with clients as needed

  • Review, evaluate and monitor accounts as follows:

  • Verify that investments are of fiduciary quality and within departmental guidelines.

  • Monitor accounts for over-concentration of assets.

  • Follow up on account reviews to ensure proper documentation

  • Assist in the Administration of Estates and Trusts:

  • Execute Estate timeline procedures.

  • Work with accountants, attorneys, and beneficiaries when necessary.

  • Responsible for vault reviews, Real Estate insurance reviews, Life Insurance reviews.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED. Some college preferred.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience

  • Detail oriented with organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

  • Strong writing, interpersonal and client service skills

  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with others

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
