Providence RN Infection Preventionist - Benedictine Nursing Center in Mount Angel, Oregon

Description

The Infection Preventionist (IP)/Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) as well as facilitating staff development and education. This individual functions as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator and facilitator for caregivers in the areas of Infection Prevention & Control Activities at the facility level, Outcome & Process Surveillance, including identifying, investigating, analyzing, controlling and reporting infections, and Outbreak Management. In addition, this position ensures that regulatory requirements for staff education are met and other educational needs identified through various processes are addressed.

Required qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. And

  • Coursework/Training and Complete the CDC's specialized training in infection prevention and control for long-term care.

  • Upon hire: Oregon Registered Nurse License

  • Upon hire: National Certified in Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology

  • 3 years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience is required.

  • 2 years of nursing experience in long-term care nursing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Previous experience in infection prevention and control is preferred.

About the Team

Providence Home and Community Care (HCC) is a service line within Providence with over 8,000 caregivers and 2,000 volunteers serving nearly 200,000 people a year, in their homes, in clinics and in a variety of congregate living ministries across our seven-state footprint.

HCC provides a full range of services and support for people of all ages, especially those facing chronic or life-limiting illnesses. Our core competencies include restorative care, longitudinal care and care through the end of life. Our service lines include assisted living/skilled nursing/rehabilitation, home health, home infusion/pharmacy services, home medical equipment, hospice and palliative care, Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), personal home services/private duty care and supportive housing.
