The Defibrillation Solutions (DS) business unit relentlessly strives to improve and save the lives of people around the world who are living with heart failure and who are at risk for sudden cardiac arrest. Our industry leading portfolio is primarily centered around implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators (CRT-D). We are part of the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) integrated operating unit and our portfolio is among the largest revenue and margin contributors across Medtronic.

As the Strategic Marketing Analyst, you will lead initiatives that help shape and inform business critical decisions. You will build and update global market models to help us estimate market trends, competitive activity, and our company’s growth trajectory. You will help facilitate bi-annual sessions with key stakeholders around the world to gather data to help refine assumptions for the models. As such, you will be the source of truth for assumptions built into the model and will provide thought leadership on additional potential scenarios our markets could face. Finally, the person in this role will help track and communicate upstream competitive activity on behalf of our team.

This newly created role will report directly to the Vice President of DS Portfolio Strategy and Business Development.

Day in the Life

  • Co-host and facilitate a market assumptions session with regional and business unit partners

  • Gather assumptions about market trends from analyst reports and market research

  • Refine market models– in collaboration with Finance – to reflect updated assumptions in all models

  • Collaborate with upstream portfolio and Finance team members to aggregate models for a singular model

  • Support management team during Strategy Planning and Annual Operating Plan processes

  • Create a “cheat sheet” of market model assumptions that can be referenced by business unit partners

  • Attend trade shows to understand the market and monitor activity of current and emerging competitors

  • Provide updates on upstream competitive activities to business unit leaders and partners

This role is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and may be open to remote for qualified candidates.

Must Have: minimum requirements

  • Bachelors degree

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in marketing, finance, accounting, or business consulting

  • Proficiency with Excel building quantitative models

  • Ability to simplify complex information

Nice to Have

  • Previousexperience in an analyst role

  • Market modeling expertise

  • Workshop facilitation skills

  • Cross-functional collaboration

  • Previousmedtech experience, specifically in cardiac rhythm management

  • Market research

  • Business or strategy consultant experience

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills

  • Experience in working with global teams

  • Experience working in a complex, matrixed environment across business units
