Product Support Readiness / Field Follow (FF) Coordinator

Lafayette, IN or Mossville, IL

What you will do:

  • Manage product support readiness for multiple concurrent Large Engine New Production Introduction (NPI) programs

  • Serve as a voice of customer in regular NPI program team meetings

  • Oversee creation of service publications for new products, marking up existing manuals and gathering input from engineering groups to create or modify existing literature

  • Work with service parts authorization team to ensure NPI parts are appropriately serviceable and stocked prior to production

  • Develop and implement training material updates or new courses as appropriate for each NPI program, working with the appropriate Global Dealer Learning teams

  • Evaluate need for new tooling based on the changes to engine design as part of NPI programs

  • Oversee and guide NPI FF Engineers to ensure customers are supported for prototype and pilot engines

  • Publish regular updates on NPI programs to Product Support and Aftermarket Services organization

  • Relevant engineering or product support experience

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments

  • Self-starter with strong technical skills and good judgment

  • Strong communication skills

Consulting: Working Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients, both internal and external; ability to apply consulting knowledge appropriately.

Effective Communications : Extensive Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Problem Solving: Working Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Relationship Management: Working Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Technical Excellence: Extensive Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Top candidates will also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • Strong engineering or product support experience

  • Experience working with CAT dealers

  • Large engine knowledge

  • Professional travel experience

  • Experience with the Caterpillar NPI process

  • Demonstrated superior communication skills including listening, writing, preparing, and delivering presentations to high-level company managers, dealers and customers

Additional Information:

  • Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN or Mossville IL

  • Domestic Relocation assistance is available for this position

  • This position may require up to 10% travel.
