Big Bend Community College Custodial Services Supervisor in Moses Lake, Washington

Position Summary

Big Bend Community College (BBCC), a rural college serving vibrant, culturally rich communities in the Columbia Basin of Central Washington invites applications for a Custodial Services Supervisor in the college's Custodial Services Department.  

The Custodial Services Supervisor is responsible to assist and supervise operations and personnel in the custodial care of campus facilities.  The primary accountability for the Custodial Services Supervisor is to ensure that all facilities operate in a safe and efficient manner.  Responsibilities include supervising full and part-time employees in cleaning and custodial services, determining cleaning needs of campus facilities, inventorying and ordering custodial supplies, scheduling deep cleaning, evaluating the performance of subordinates, and interviewing personnel being considered for employment.  

 

In addition, this position is responsible to assist the crew in daily cleaning duties to achieve maximum cleaning standards, provide safety training for assigned personnel, perform preventative maintenance and repairs to custodial equipment, while maintaining a follow-up program on accidents and safety prevention techniques.

 

This position reports to the Director of Facilities and Capital Projects and works closely with the Building & Grounds Supervisor to meet the needs of the college.

Essential Job Duties

Primary essential responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Determine staffing needs for buildings; oversee activities in assigned area of responsibility.  Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of employees.  Coordinate staffing and oversight of special cleaning projects.

Assist with daily cleaning duties to ensure facilities operate in a safe and efficient manner. 

Evaluate the total work of employees against established standards.  Inspect assigned areas to determine whether work has been properly performed.  Counsel employees on performance; issue corrective action as needed.
