rrPosition Summary:

rReporting to the Associate Director for Student Support Services (SSS-TRIO), the Web, Communications, and Events Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing promotional and marketing campaigns for all unit-sponsored services, programs and events. In addition, the Specialist drafts newsletters and other strategic communications to students and the campus community; collaborates with the Associate Director and Vandal Success Strategic Initiatives to develop and maintain content on the unit and department website and social media sites; and assists in designing and creating promotional materials. The specialist is also responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all SSS-TRIO events, including assisting with events and activities associated with the SSS-TRIO Peer Mentor Program.

rrMinimum Qualifications:

r

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

{=html} <!-- --> - One year experience in public relations, marketing, event planning, or advertising - Experience designing marketing/promotional material using desktop publishing software - Experience with web page development and maintenance - Experience with using social media to promote and increase awareness

rrPreferred Qualifications:

rEducation:

  • Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field

Experience:

  • Past experience with assessment of outcomes
  • Past event planning experience
  • Experience working in a collaborative, team environment

Skills/Ability to:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and editing skills
  • Ability to professionally represent the Vandal Success department and UAS/ASP units
