HYBRID SCHEDULE in MAPLE GROVE, MN

The Third Party Logistics (3PLs) Operations Specialist will support and execute standard operating procedures between Bunzl Retail Services and the 3PL Distribution Centers as well as through the support of Bunzl Retail Services internal department processes.

The role will provide operational support to Bunzl Retail Services associates, 3PLs contacts, customers & other outside vendors. Follow internal procedures to ensure distribution centers adhere to timely & accurate PO receipts, outbound orders fulfillment, inventory adjustment requests and billing & accounting for services rendered. Assist the Operations and Logistics Manager/department with other various tasks and projects as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and document operating processes between Bunzl Retail Services and the 3PL Distribution Centers.

  • Assist in developing and implementing new procedures as it pertains to standard operating processes or customer specific requirements.

  • Provide 3PL DC’s customer requirements and expectations; communicate and document changes to requirements.

  • Document all internal 3PL processes, both standard operational and customer specific.

  • Maintain list of developing procedures, system changes and enhancements requested; meet with related personnel regularly to review, update statuses, and develop a plan to resolve any open issues.

  • Assist with the daily operations of the 3PL DC’s within regions assigned.

  • Communicate and monitor compliance of customer requirements and expectations to the 3PLs and internal departments.

  • Answer and field daily DC questions to appropriate personnel/department.

  • Coordinate customer special project requests: receive and approve costs and ensure expenses are correctly applied.

  • Reconcile 3PL monthly invoices by confirming transport costs have been applied, invoice consumptions, and provide pick/pack bin counts.

  • Assist with 3PL budget and expense tracking.

  • Communicate delivery dates and order fulfillment requirements to meet customer SLAs.

  • Participate in weekly/monthly conference calls with Operations and Logistics teams.

  • Assist with the any analysis and implementation of the consolidation of 3PL DC’s within the specified region.

  • Create, update, and distribute implementation timeline. Assign owners and due dates to tasks.

  • Ensure all personnel have resources and systems in place to execute their responsibilities properly.

  • Communicate best 3PL business practices to ensure consistency and success of program

  • Assist in providing International and domestic transit time and freight costs as needed.

  • Ensure department processes coincide, and the best processes are being utilized

  • Reconcile PO receipts and order shipping issues.

  • Review open billing reports and work with 3PL’s in closing orders shipped to ensure timely invoicing to Bunzl Retail Services customers.

  • Asist 3PLs with periodic cycle counts and annual physical inventories.

  • Provide occasional after hours support as needed.

  • Assist with other duties and responsibilities on an as needed basis.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 to 3+ years domestic and international logistics experience and or customer service support experience a plus.

  • Ability to interact and communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, vendors and customers.

  • High level of organization, accuracy, attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Work well under pressure and daily deadlines with strong problem-solving skills

  • Highly motivated and willing to work flexible schedule to accommodate business needs.

  • High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.

  • Computer proficiency and comfortable learning new computer applications.

  • Knowledge of MS Office and Power Point programs preferred.

  • Assist logistics/operations team with ad hoc customer requests related to volume and financial activity analysis as required.

  • All other tasks deemed necessary by logistics/operations leadership.
