Atlantic Health System Child Development & Autism Center Summer Intern in Morristown, New Jersey
T his unique internship offers a college student the opportunity to shadow many different disciplines working within The Child Development & Autism Center including neurodevelopmental physicians, nurse practitioners, ABA therapists, psychologists, as well as social workers and care navigators. The intern splits time between shadowing and assisting us with administrative duties such as scheduling for the center and registering patients with the state mandated Autism Registry. Exposure to other developmental programs such as the NICU Follow Up Program, Cardiac High Risk Developmental Program, audiology, PT, OT and Social Skills Groups is included as well. The summer intern will work in the outpatient department of Child Development & Autism Center.
Learn administrative duties involved with the running of a very busy outpatient practice
Shadow clinical, medical and mental health professionals
There will be opportunity to assist with two clinical research projects evaluating developmental outcomes of high-risk infants as well as a genotype study
Intern will be actively involved in the process of completing the mandated NJ Autism Registry for all new diagnosis at the center
Assist with front office duties such as answering calls, confirming patients and scheduling
Through mentorship with MDs, PNPs, psychologists and behavior therapists, intern will learn/observe diagnosis treatment for children with Autism
Weekly; assist with multi-disciplinary NICU follow up program and be exposed to Physical, Speech, Audiological and Occupational Therapy evaluations of infants/toddlers
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full-time accredited public or private College/University
Be in good academic standing
Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June 2025 - August 2025
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer Service Oriented
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Team-oriented
