Morris Hospital Supervisor Family Birthing Suites in MORRIS, Illinois
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Responsible and accountable for the education and performance improvement within the department. Works with the manager, Perinatal Educator, staff members, and equipment vendors to assess, identify, plan, implement, and follow-up education and quality initiatives. Supplements best practices and monitors compliance. Assists with staffing, scheduling, coordination of new employees and preceptors, and unit operations. Assists on the unit and assumes Charge RN role or takes patient assignments as needed. Rounds on patients to ensure excellence. Rounds on staff to ensure employee engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional/Educational
Graduate from an accredited School of nursing. 2. Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois. 3. Bachelor Degree in Nursing required. 4. Master's Degree preferred. 5. Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). 6. Certified by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). 8. Inpatient Obstetrics Certification preferred.
At least 3 years of recent perinatal nursing experience which has provided opportunities to refine competencies in nursing practice and apply principles and practice of teaching and supervision.
Meditech experience preferred.
DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
