Assists the department of radiology with all matters related to the coordination and delivery of radiologic imaging interpretation. Serves as a liaison for the Department of Radiology practicing service excellence in all interactions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. High School diploma or equivalentANDTwo (2) years additional training or related experienceOR; High School diploma or equivalentANDOne (1) year of radiology administrative or clinical supportOR; High School diploma or equivalentANDCurrently enrolled in an accredited Radiology program or other accredited allied health program.

  1. Provides for optimal radiology reading room workflow by working closely with physicians, administrative and clinical teams to anticipate and support the needs based on departmental procedure volumes and call requests.
  2. Acts as the main liaison for radiology providing superior levels of service at all times for both internal and external customers.
  3. Ensures by direct or indirect involvement that all verbal communications request to and from the reading room areproxiedand routed appropriately in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.
  4. Ensures all phones are answered and calls routed as appropriate during all hours of operation.
  5. Tracks and monitors call volumes and prepares reporting as required
  6. Responds to requests from Radiologists when there is a need to provide or obtain information from a referring physician. Tracks and reports all requests for quality validation.
  7. Monitors reading worklists for timely completion of interpretation, providing regular reporting on turn-around times. Ensures are studies are finalized as per departmental standards of practice.
  8. Handle chart control tasks for Radiologist including EPIC in-baskets, EPIC chart deficiencies, scanning documents into EPIC and locating patient medical record information in EPIC.
  9. Composes correspondence in response to routine inquiries frequently without instruction or review.
  10. Monitor exam protocol work list to alert radiologist to cases that are awaiting attention.
  11. Track and investigate external studies as requested. Enter orders as required to facilitate the importing of external studies for comparison and/or interpretation.
