Description The Department of Biology in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant. About the Opportunity This position will conduct research as part of a USDA-funded project focused around understanding the impacts of wildfire smoke on forest carbon cycling. The postdoctoral scholar will contribute to this effort by harmonizing data from tree-ring chronologies, eddy covariance towers, and remote sensing data products. There is opportunity to assist in the development and benchmarking of new model algorithms representing ecophysiological responses to air pollution, as well as to expand the scope of the project tailored toward the strengths of the scholar. Completion of a graduate program resulting in a PhD being awarded by start of appointment Skills in the manipulation and analysis of large datasets Ability to work with model output Strong written and verbal communication abilities Requirements Curriculum Vitae.
