Description West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a (Hybrid) Clinical Research Specialist with the WVU Cancer Institute/Clinical Research Unit About the Opportunity Participates in the development, coordination, and implementation of research and administrative strategies essential to the successful management of clinical trials research conducted by WVU Cancer Institute faculty at West Virginia University Health Sciences Center. Performs a variety of independent and collaborative duties involved in Phase I - IV clinical trial coordination and implementation, organization, oversight, documentation, tracking, data abstraction and collection and compilation of clinical research data. This position may also assist on other studies, as needed. This position serves as a resource contact relative to the Clinical Research Unit. Independently uses professional concepts and techniques, as well as organizational policies to solve a wide range of moderate to complex problems in imaginative and practical ways. Depth skills, knowledge, and interpretive abilities, as well as some creativity, are required to successfully perform duties. Work effort often addresses non-routine matters within established protocol, guidelines, and/or policies. Work effort has significant impact on client services and operations, producing moderate to major organizational, legal and financial results and/or liabilities. Position duties may require oversight of projects or programs, including coordination of work by others providing support of basic objectives. What you'll do: Protocol Compliance: Facilitates compliance with the requirements of the research protocol and good clinical research practice while remaining cognizant of the needs of diverse patient populations. Clinical Trials-Related Communication: Utilizes multiple communication methods to facilitate the effective conduct of clinical trials. Informed Consent Process: Demonstrates leadership in ensuring patient comprehension and safety during initial and ongoing clinical trial informed consent discussions. Management of Clinical Trial Patients: Involves a variety of resources and strategies to manage the care of patients participating in clinical trials, ensuring compliance with protocol procedures, assessments, and reporting requirements as well as management of symptoms.
