The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.

Position Overview

The primary role of the Electrical Designer/Drafter under the direction of the Sr. Controls Engineer is to create detailed drawings for the electrical power (120VAC and up), controls (24VDC), and panel designs developed by Pillar Innovations. They will also generate supplementary documents in Excel, including IO lists, load lists, cable schedules, conduit schedules, and more.

The Electrical Designer/Drafter will report to the Sr. Controls Engineer and will work primarily out of the Morgantown location with roughly 30% field time.

What You'll Do
  • Interpret engineered drawings / models to create detailed drawings
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD, to generate 2D design layouts and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Create and modify existing drawings as directed by engineers and management team
  • Create accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials)
  • Organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheet documentation that supports electrical design packages
  • Collaborate with engineers to produce customer-facing documentation, such as functional diagrams and user manuals
  • Ensure proper documentation and file management in accordance with quality control standards
What You'll Bring
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Associates Degree in Drafting /Electrical Engineering from a Technical School or College, or Equivalent experience preferred
  • Electrical estimating experience is preferred
  • Must have the ability to work independently, adhering to general procedures and objectives
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in fast-paced, evolving team environments
  • Ability to be flexible and shift priorities quickly
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to follow directions and a keen attention to detail
  • Must be skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven capacity to maintain professionalism in interactions with colleagues and clients
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and maintain a positive and proactive mindset
  • Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes extended hours

Working Conditions

  • Walk, crawl, talk, see, read, hear, feel, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, grasp and climb with both hands and legs for extended periods of time
  • Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Climb at heights of 300+ for extended periods of time
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
