About the role This position is responsible for leading the production work cells to support the efficient production of Leviton products. This position is accountable for providing leadership to ensure that all production systems, quality initiatives, procedures and training activities are consistent with company goals and objectives to facilitate our manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Provide a communication interface between manager and employees to assure that problems are handled on a timely basis Train employees on all aspects of production Move operators as needed to assure efficient utilization of personnel and production to schedules Coordinate the manufacture of assemblies to meet the finished goods schedules Communicate with Quality Assurance & Manufacturing Engineers and take action to disposition and prevent the manufacture of non-conforming material Communicate with shipping to ensure daily shipping requirements are met Perform duties of all work cell positions as necessary Check, along with material handler, to ensure all identification remains with material in the department and first article inspection sign off Expedite potential material shortages Documents actions by completing production and quality forms Communicate with the supervisor to determine scheduling priorities to ensure on time delivery Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations Plans, assigns and directs work for the production work cells Fosters a positive team attitude, builds an effective work team and maintains good communication Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Ability to take an active role in recommending and implementing continuous improvements in the production work cells Ability to define and implement solutions to problems resulting from process or procedural issues Ability to use judgment related to identifying potential safety hazards Ability to work independently in absence of direct supervision, exercising judgment and initiative Ability to work 4 on/4 off, 6pm to 6am or 6am to 6pm, and overtime as needed Requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, pushing, pulling, and feeling Requires eye/hand/foot coordination Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required Minimum of two year related experience and/or training as work cell lead preferred Travel Up to 10% may be required What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance programs 401K plans with employer-matching contributions Tuition reimbursement PTO Paid holidays Volunteer time off For more information about benefits, please go to: https://careers.leviton.com/benefits Leviton is an EEO/AA Employer.
