Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Leads and performs maintenance of facilities and equipment to maximize operations performance. Prioritizes and coordinates work assignments for Senior Maintenance Technicians/Maintenance Technicians to ensure critical work assignments are completed correctly and on a timely basis. Coaches Senior Maintenance Technicians/Maintenance Technicians through orientation, training, establishment of objectives, and communication of good maintenance practices. Directs, schedules, and performs preventative maintenance tasks and minor mechanical repairs to material-handling equipment. Performs preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on high-tech automated equipment. Uses Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)-generated preventive maintenance worksheets to maintain distribution machinery and equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and good maintenance practices. Maintains a safe work environment by documenting and correcting potential safety issues concerning material-handling equipment or distribution center facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on high-tech automated equipment.

  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)-generated preventive maintenance worksheets.

  • Maintain a safe work environment by documenting and correcting potential safety issues.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical troubleshooting

  • PLC troubleshooting

  • Electrical maintenance

  • Mechanical repair

  • Ability to coach, lead, and mentor technicians

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with mechanical and electrical equipment and components

  • Knowledge of 3 phase motors, 480v

  • Familiarity with integrated systems with PLCs

  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs (old and new) troubleshooting and repair

  • Experience with high-speed automated sorting machines

  • Knowledge of VFDs, photo eyes, and sensors

  • Familiarity with robotic equipment and gantry cranes

  • Experience with conveyors, sorters, and cranes

  • Ability to update computer status using TMI Systems software

Work Environment

This role involves working with high-tech automated equipment in a distribution center environment. The facility is equipped with mechanical and electrical components, 3 phase motors, integrated systems with PLCs, high-speed automated sorting machines, and robotic equipment. The dress code is safety-focused, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment.
