Position Description:

Assists Activity Programs Specialist in planning and implementing youth recreation and fitness programs. Provides instruction and assistance in specialized programs, including Pee Wee Sports, Youth Soccer, Rock Climbing, and special events. Required to perform physical duties as required for programs as necessary.

Essential Job Functions (may include the following or other duties as assigned):

  • Engage children and young adults into a conversation to determine their needs and interests.
  • Ensure children\'s health, safety, and well-being in a sports program by closely supervising all activities.
  • Introduce children to the basic fundamental concepts of different games - basketball, soccer, and Rock Climbing.
  • Assist the Lead Instructor with youth sports activities. Prepare the class format for each youth sports session. Provide sports instruction, i.e., perform drills and demos pertaining to different sports.
  • Evaluate equipment and ensure the safety of participants.
  • Set up and break down of equipment.
  • Evaluate the program and implement new opportunities.
  • Track participant attendance.
  • Provide guidance to youth.
  • Actively participate in all training sessions and designated meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned bysupervisor.
  • Assist others as requested or assigned.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • 16 years or older.
  • Must have knowledge/understanding of Basketball, Soccer, and Rock Climbing.
  • Preferred experience Refereeing Basketball, Soccer, and Rock Climbing.
  • Must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Must be able to follow directions completely, accurately, and consistently.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Able to successfully complete Reference Check, Background Check, and Drug Screen.
