Highlights Healthcare ABA is seeking a passionate BCBA/LBA to join us as Director of Student Programs. If you are passionate about ABA and developing new clinicians, then you are a great fit for our Highlights family.

As the Director of Student Programs you get to do what you love most – develop RBTs to become BCBAs. The Director of Student Programs is an experienced BCBA/LBA who will lead the development, management, and implementation of our trainee/student analyst program and our BCBA mentor program. This position ensures the delivery of quality, aligned curriculum and supervision, as well as support, guidance, and training to field supervisors. This position requires clinical expertise, leadership, and organizational behavior management skills, and will also require an average of 10 commitment hours per week.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Student Programs must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Manages and coordinates all activities related to BCBA Student Program

  • Provides clinical and performance supervision, including developing goals, providing feedback, and identifying the need for disciplinary action, as needed for BCBA Students

  • Teaches Level 1 intro and Level 3 advanced classes

  • Organizes materials for each level

  • Keeps attendance for each SA

  • Assists with corrective action meetings for students if needed

  • Coordinates or implements the review and signing off on all student session notes, give students feedback as needed

  • Conducts quarterly evaluations for students to demonstrate progress and shares this with active supervisor

  • Coordinates student activities with field supervisors

  • Independently manages a small caseload of clients (3-4) in partnership with level 3 Students preparing for their own caseload to include: writing behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs, conducting parent training, utilization of supervision hours, support/training for BT's, parent management, assessments/re-assessments, etc

  • Oversees students on client cases, including attending supervision and parent training sessions, meeting to collaborate, reviewing notes, sending feedback and discussion

  • Ensures that all hours are accurately reflected for each Trainee within Ripley

  • Ensures all documentation is clearly and thoroughly filled out within each candidate's folder

  • Arranges, prepares for, and provides 1:1 student supervision meetings and group supervision meetings

  • Facilitates group supervision meetings for cohorts allowing new cohorts to become active

  • Assists with on-going development of the supervision program curriculum.

  • Assists students with all relevant student projects, signs all contact forms, upholds the BACB's student contracts

  • May provide support to new BCBAs

  • Follows all policies & protocols as identified in the BACB Supervision Manual

  • Follows & stays educated on all new guidelines and standards for the field and implement within daily supervision practices

  • Conducts/models a variety of assessments to determine client social, play, ADL, communication, and behavioral needs.

  • Initiates clinical improvements and work with VPO on implementation of the Student/Trainee program

  • Assists with newly developed clinical needs and initiatives BACB Supervisor Related: Provides BACB supervision according to the most recent BACB Task List (5th edition)

  • Maintains documentation according to BACB supervision standards and maintains key documentation for BACB supervision according to company standards

  • Communicates effectively with HR and the VPO about trainee status

  • Attends supervision meetings with DOOs order to determine future needs and capacity for the programs.

  • Attends career fairs and network with colleges and universities promoting BCBA certification and HHC

  • Exhibits effective communication with co-workers, other providers, supervisors and supervisee's

  • Is versed in insurance company requirements for which we are credentialed with and communicates credentialing needs for newly minted BCBAs with the credentialing dept.

  • Follows all supervision guidelines and the code of ethics for supervisors set forth by the BACB

  • Maintains all professional certifications, including state licensure, BCBA and CPR certifications

  • Acts with integrity and courtesy toward coworkers, clients and supervisors

  • Demonstrates continued improvement on quality of care metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Level Degree inclusive of ABA coursework

  • Certified by the BACB as a BCBA and Licensed Behavior Analyst in NC (LBA)

  • Minimum 2 years providing supervision to BCBA Trainees

  • A minimum of 4+ years working with children with autism spectrum disorders

  • Previous supervision experience and/or Team Leader position

  • Crisis Management experience preferred

  • Equipment and Technology experience

  • Previous experience with ABA software and platforms

  • Work positively and favorably with clients, families, and staff

  • Demonstrate compassion, responsibility, and friendly attitude

  • Excellent communication skills, analytical and observation skills. Knowledge of crisis management preferred.

  • Current Driver's License in good standing with valid car insurance.

  • Unexpired and current Firsts Aid/CPR/AED training required.

  • Experience with Central Reach EMR Software and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook

  • Must possess the visual acuity to develop legible written correspondence and determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of talking audibly, hearing, being on one's feet for long periods of time and performing repetitive motions, such as using repeated gestures.

  • Must have physical stamina and ability to match energy level of participants, including floor play with small children, bending, stooping, and reaching.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs

  • Exhibit sound judgment and decision making and effective time management skills.

  • Work to build effective and healthy relationships; Proactively anticipate issues and develop solutions.

  • Be adaptable to changing organizational needs.

  • Experience with programming, developing, and implementing intervention programs.

  • Experience with Systematic Teaching, Verbal Behavior, and Naturalistic Environment Teaching.

  • Experience with VB-MAPP, ABLLS, and Vineland standardized assessments.

  • Experience with Central Reach EMR Software and proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook/Teams.

  • Must have a reliable car valid Driver's License, and proof of insurance.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and produce high-quality results while handling competing priorities.

  • Ability to maintain positive learner and family interactions with a high degree of professionalism.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clear criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per HHC and/or program requirements.
