Description
We are offering a temporary to full-time employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the Transport industry at a location in Pennsylvania. As a Collections Specialist, your primary role will be to manage internal credit and collections activities related to a specific customer portfolio.
Responsibilities
• Monitor customer portfolio regularly and execute daily collections activities using phone and email communications to secure status updates and promises of payment relating to overdue customer accounts.
• Employ imaging systems and electronic file networks to access and review documentation for invoicing disputes, and process correction requests if necessary.
• Collaborate with the billing and accounting department staff on the correction of errors, including rebills, misapplied payments, overpayments, and freight bill corrections.
• Prepare a monthly summary of portfolio collections progress and participate in monthly portfolio reviews with department manager and other management personnel.
• Escalate collection issues to the department manager based on customer responses and payment actions.
• Regularly review account activities to assess the adequacy of customer limits in the context of current revenue trends.
• Investigate any short paid invoices with customers and coordinate with relevant personnel to determine invoice revisions or necessary chargebacks to driver and agent unit accounts.
• Assist the accounting department in obtaining any requested customer payment remittance information relevant to the assigned portfolio.
• Utilize Accounting Software Systems, manage Accounts Receivable (AR), handle Billing Functions, and oversee Collection Processes.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is necessary for the role of Collections Specialist.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is crucial for managing payments and outstanding invoices.
• Familiarity with Billing Functions is required to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
• Knowledge of Collection Processes is essential for tracking overdue accounts and recovering unpaid dues.
