DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform bookkeeping and clerical work that directly supports our department, our staff, and the children we serve. For generating payments, this position follows a standard checklist to review all bills for accuracy, track payment amounts and timeframes, contact vendors in regards to disputes for clarification, and other duties as assigned. You will track revenues and provide support documentation to the county and maintain records of this for the agency. This position also posts information from county payroll reports. Additionally, you will maintain spreadsheets on child placement and cross walk this data to related spreadsheets on foster parents, expenditures for children in placement, medical assistance eligibility, and more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. *  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY*

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by 6 credits in accounting; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement.  Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Susquehanna County. If no eligible candidates who live within Susquehanna County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
