    About the "Department"

  • The Health Information Management team inputs, manages, protects, and analyzes health care data like electronic health records, lab results, patient contact information, medical history, and more. The team takes pride in our processes of how we deal with this highly sensitive data.

    About The Career:

  • This position evaluates simple and complex medical records for Spine and Pain program and other complex procedures and assigns appropriate clinical diagnoses and procedure codes in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines for the development for organization wide database and submission of accurate hospital claims.

    All About You :

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Coding credential or certification Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Outpatient Inpatient Coding (CIC), Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) required.

  • Training & Experience: Three (3) years' experience as a coder in a hospital setting. One (1) year experience as an inpatient coder strongly preferred.

  • Job Knowledge: ICD and CPT coding. Medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and drugs appropriate for treating specific disease processes. Knowledge of official coding guidelines, Coding Clinic advice. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Computer literate.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, focus on quality and discipline in time management and assignment completion.
