The Merchandise eCommerce Merchandising & Product Manager is responsible for deeply understanding customer needs, managing the day-to day business, while optimizing the presentation, organization, and promotion of merchandise, such as apparel and collectables, throughout Ford.com identifying features/functionality/actions to deliver customer and business value in an easy and outstanding shopping experience. This role will be the eCommerce merchandise subject matter expert and work cross-functionally with other merchandisers, product managers, engineers, analytics, research, agency, and business partners to execute on these actions.

Please note this person will need to work EST hours and there is expected travel to the Dearborn, MI area approximately one week 6X/ year.

What you’ll do…

  • Manage and own merchandise.ford.com daily performance and optimization - Drives business value every day by pulling, analyzing, and translating web analytics and behavioral data into actionable insights to enhance sales, conversion, and customer satisfaction/task completion across Ford.com with forecasted values for each to set goals, KPI’s, and prioritization

  • Gain a deep understanding of current and evolving merchandise eCommerce customer needs, trends, competitive activity, & technology advancement

  • Lead & collaborate with business partners, engineers, and other product managers to translate business goals and end user needs into strategy & tactics that deliver measurable value

  • Implement merchandising strategies and tactics including but not limited to: Brand strategy, content strategy, natural search and site search strategy, customer way-finding including navigation and product categorization/filtering, effectively mixing and managing static and dynamic content, leveraging personalization tools, implementing and monitoring ratings & reviews, building collections, and developing and implementing seasonal incentives and promotions.

  • Create well-defined features, user stories, and acceptance criteria, prioritizing them into release planning

  • Refine features, stories, and merchandising tactics by formulating and iterating on hypotheses through user research and testingParticipates in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos and retrospectives

  • Condense complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders & leadership & influences stakeholder groups with facts and data to provide context for change

  • Advocate for the end user and stakeholder by empathizing with and understanding user needs

  • Collaborative leader focusing on seeking to understand and solving together

  • Partner with operations to ensure fulfillment and customer handling expectations are met for merchandise eCommerce customers

You’ll have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of eCommerce Merchandising AND Product Management experience

  • 1+ years of Shopify Site Management with 3 rd party fulfillment experience

Even better, you may have…

  • MBA or other Master’s Degree

  • Experience working with Adobe Suite of Products – including AEM, Target, Analytics and Audience Manager or similar.

  • Automotive industry, Brick & Mortar Merchandising, Agency and/or Product Management experience

  • Data-driven mindset with excellent analytical skills with proven utilization of information to drive results-oriented decisions and measure results

  • Experience communicating with and influencing functional and technical team members at all levels in the organization, including with a Software Product Organization to influence product strategies and roadmaps

  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, self-starter with a proactive attitude

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, fluid environment where priorities shift on a regular basis

  • Ability to break down complex tasks or requirements into simpler, more manageable tasks identifying clear pros, cons, issues, obstacles, and dependencies

  • Delivers results consistently even under tough circumstances with the aptitude to recognize roadblocks and escalate issues as needed

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Experience managing agency/partner relations

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 .
