Summary The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center Pharmacy is seeking exceptionally talented, knowledgeable, and motivated Pharmacy Technicians. This announcement is being advertised to fill pharmacy technician vacancies within the Clinical Center Pharmacy Department's Investigational Drug Control Unit. Responsibilities As a Pharmacy Technician GS-0661-07, your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Assisting in maintaining the investigational drug database including accurately inputting information and generating reports. Participating in the set-up of clinical drug trials, as needed, including assembling study binders and other required items. Assisting pharmacists in consultations for initial protocol set-up in the Pharmacy Department. Assisting in maintaining blinding of investigational drugs and treatment randomizations. Assisting in performing regular internal audits on investigational drug inventories and drug accountability logs. Checking for shortages, tampering, breakages, deterioration, and date of expiration. Monitoring and recording activities for all required investigational drug service logs (e.g., inventory balance, equipment maintenance). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You qualify at the GS-07 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements: A. I qualify for this position at the GS-07 level because I have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Maintaining investigational drug inventory, providing technical direction and assistance with clinical trial protocols, performing drug distribution activities, maintaining and assisting in the record keeping related to clinical trials, assisting with quality assurance/improvement specific to investigational drug accountability, providing required equipment maintenance, and performing training/educational functions. OR B. I qualify for this position at the GS-07 level because I have completed one full year of graduate education, or an internship, in Pharmacy related education. One year of full-time graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study, or 18 semester hours. OR C. I qualify for this position at the GS-07 level because I have a combination of graduate level education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. Additional Information This position is designated as a Tier 1 "emergency essential" position and the selected candidate will be considered an "emergency essential" employee and will be required to be available, ready, willing, and able to report for duty under all circumstances (e.g., inclement weather, government closings and holidays, lapses in appropriations, non-emergency and emergency situations) for operation 24 hours a day and 365 days per year coverage.
