Jacobs Electrical Engineering Intern - Montgomery, AL in Montgomery, Alabama

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team in Montgomery, AL. You’ll have the opportunity to use your theoretical knowledge and apply it to solving today’s challenges. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide. You’ll be responsible for providing system design calculations and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and civil engineering) under the guidance of more senior technical staff. You’ll also take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assigned to you by demonstrating the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.

Some of the tasks you can expect to support are condition assessment of existing systems, feasibility and master plan studies and detailed design and construction oversite for distribution systems including MCCs and substations. You will also produce electrical calculations, reports and construction document packages that will be utilized for bidding and construction for our city and water works clients.

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program

  • Must be at least a rising Junior

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Interest in Buildings Electrical Systems design

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM
