Overview

As a Senior Mining Project Manager in CEC's Monroeville, Pennsylvania office, you will be tasked to help grow the local mining practice with emphasis in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. You will manage projects and project teams to navigate today's complex mining regulatory landscape and help our existing coal and aggregate mining clients to secure permits and complete projects in a timely manner while achieving compliance with environmental regulatory criteria.  Your work will influence the entire project - from assessment and investigation for new and expanding facilities, to solving complex surface water and groundwater degradation issues including conceptual remediation and water treatment design plans, to permitting and compliance associated with ongoing operations. You will also serve as a mentor to junior staff, educating them about the mining industry in the region, about field data collection, engineering and environmental design parameters, as well as the regulatory criteria as they relate to the coal and aggregate mining industries in the region. Qualifications

B.S. in Civil, Mechanical, Mining, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering with P.E. registration or B.S. in Geology with P.G. registration; Minimum 10+ years of experience in managing mining-related permitting and/or environmental compliance projects for the industry; Strong working knowledge of state and federal environmental laws and regulations as they relate to environmental compliance and remediation systems associated with coal and/or aggregate mining; Experience working with regulatory agency personnel in the tristate area (PA, OH, WV); Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to junior scientists while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous learning; Ability to speak and write professionally, including experience with preparation of regulatory submittals, along with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to diverse audiences including trade associations.  Expert witness testimony experience a plus; Demonstrated experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with professionals from various backgrounds.
