Position Summary: The Welder Fabricator applies their skills and knowledge to the layout, fitting, and welding of wind towers, tanks, pressure vessels, caissons, and other fabricated products. This is a detailoriented position for those who are skilled in welding.  Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following: Perform GMAW, FCAW, and SAW welding in accordance with AWS D1.1. Weld components in flat, vertical, and horizontal or overhead positions. Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent heat distortion. Layout and weld internal components using straight edges, tape measures, and scales. Weld, grind, and finish all welds as required in drawings, specifications, and work orders. Complete documentation and ensure quality assurance holds are adhered to as required. Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment. Operate machinery and equipment required for the welding process. Operate cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment safely. Willingness to cross train and work alongside QA Technicians to ensure product quality. Ability to accurately use various measuring tools in imperial and metric systems. Adhere to all safety rules and always wear appropriate PPE as required in the work area. Establish and maintain exceptional housekeeping. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Two years welding experience or welding certificate completed from an accredited training program. A combination of experience, training and/or education may be used as an appropriate substitute. The ability to pass GMAW, FCAW, and SAW weld tests in accordance with AWS D1.1. The ability to stand, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time. The ability to lift materials weighing 35-45 lbs. on a continuous basis and 60 lbs. on occasion.
