Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team at a steel processing plant. The role pays $36/hr. The position involves a balanced mix of mechanical and electrical repair work on various machines in the facility, including furnaces, conveyor systems, hydraulics, rollers, and PLCs. The primary focus will be on electrical repairs such as drivers, motors, control centers, fuse boxes, and breakers, with occasional mechanical repair support. There is an opening on 2nd and 3rd shift.
Responsibilities
Perform electrical repairs on equipment including drivers, motors, control centers, fuse boxes, and breakers.
Conduct mechanical repairs to support other technicians on the shift.
Manage electrical systems up to 480 volts.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with machines and equipment.
Maintain and repair various facility machinery, including furnaces, conveyor systems, hydraulics, rollers, and PLCs.
Essential Skills
Journeyman Electrician certification or Electrical Associates degree.
Experience working with electrical systems up to 480 volts.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues.
Strong ability to perform mechanical repairs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a steel processing plant or similar industrial environment.
Knowledge of safe work practices in a heavy machinery setting.
Ability to work effectively on a 3rd shift schedule.

Work Environment
The work environment is a clean and orderly steel processing plant with four production lines, including pickling and galvanizing lines. The facility includes a large storage area for steel, both inside and outside. Safety is a top priority due to the size and weight of the steel being moved, and safe work practices are essential. The position requires working Monday to Friday, with additional shifts every other weekend.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MONROE, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $34.00/hr.
