These vacancies are located at the Swanson Center for Youth in Monroe, Louisiana.

The incumbents will serve as content teachers for Secondary Education Certified Instructor or Temporary Authority to Teach or Eligibility for a TAT core subject matters: Science, Social Studies, Math, or Language Arts. The Incumbent works 7.5 hours per work day.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate which includes Certification in the area of employment as specified by Bulletin 746, Revised, Louisiana Department of Education.

There may be additions and alternatives to the above qualifications as the Office of Juvenile Justice determines appropriate.

    If you have previous employment in a community confinement center, jail, lockup or prison, the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) requires Office of Juvenile Justice Human Resources to contact those employers prior to hiring any applicant for information on substantiated allegations of sexual abuse or any resignation during a pending investigation of an allegation of sexual abuse. Do you authorize the Office of Juvenile Justice, to contact any of your prior employers, whether listed on your employment application or not, to ascertain information required by the Prison Rape Elimination Act, Part 115 of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations?
