Job Purpose:

  • Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards.

  • Direct the activities of suppliers, production employees, and customers to resolve quality problems and continuously improve the level of quality.

  • Provide leadership to Continuous Improvement staff to optimize the role of CI within the plant.

Job Functions:

  • Develop closed-loop quality system driven to reduce process variation and ensure plant compliance.

  • Act as change agent to drive continuous improvement of production and service processes to improve quality and increase efficiency, which includes root cause analysis and problem solving.

  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers and/or CI Organization to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

  • Develop and implement product quality plans and procedures by overseeing gauge requirements, frequency, responsibility and methods to ensure compliance to process and product specifications.

  • Direct, through intermediate personnel, workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure quality control over raw materials and final products.

  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.

  • Serve as customer contact for quality issues.

  • Represent Graphic Packaging at customer locations.

  • Respond to, evaluate, and resolve customer complaints

  • Track and manage customer feedback regarding quality.

  • Direct activities, duties, and projects of 12 CI personnel.

  • Implement practices and controls to drive an effective supplier management system.

  • Work with Raw material vendors on material specifications and process/track vendor complaints

  • Oversee new business transition.

  • Oversee Continuous Improvement website for local plant.

  • Drive cost savings initiatives and track progress towards plant goals.

  • Manage customer specification system.

  • Oversee trials. Create and communicate trial plans.

  • Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field preferred

  • 3-5 years’ experience in quality, or equivalent experience

  • Six Sigma experience a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to lead and direct others

  • Prior management or supervisory experience preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet research skills

  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control theories

  • Experience in implementation of technical testing in production environments

  • General knowledge of printing and converting technologies preferred

  • Experience with Minitab software and SAP is a plus

  • 5% Travel required

  • Visual Color Discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors

Pay Range: $63,175.00 - $84,265.00
