Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Modesto, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling the daily financial and accounting activities within our organization. The role requires proficiency in various accounting functions, including but not limited to, the preparation of financial reports, budgeting, costing, and pricing of stock items.
Responsibilities:
• Administer daily accounting and financial operations within the business
• Prepare and analyze monthly operating or project performance reports against budgets
• Develop and maintain general ledger for accurate financial information
• Assist in the creation of documentation for budgeting and financial reporting procedures
• Calculate cost pricing of work in progress and finished stock items
• Conduct an analysis and report on project and product costing
• Monitor and interpret statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results and identify areas of profit growth
• Collaborate with management to develop accounting and financial management systems and reports
• Ensure costing and pricing of stock items, including in-progress and finished products, are accurate
• Produce daily and periodic cost statements for review.
Requirements • Hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Solid understanding of General Ledger and Journal Entries
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in month-end close activities
• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not mandatory
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work
• Proficiency in financial reporting and financial statement preparation.
