Our Construction client is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Specialist. The chosen candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, focusing primarily on managing subcontractor accounts payable, processing supplier payments, vendor and material invoice verification, handling change orders, and executing payment transactions. Experience in the construction industry is paramount for success in this position.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all subcontractor accounts payable functions and ensure payments are made in a timely and accurate manner.

• Review and process suppliers' payments, ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines.

• Authenticate vendor and material invoices against the system, investigating any discrepancies and rectifying issues promptly.

• Efficiently manage change orders, ensuring they are properly addressed and updated in the system.

• Supervise the progress billing process and ensure all payments align with agreed terms and conditions.

• Utilize Sage 300 software for accounts payable management, financial tracking and reporting, and other administrative tasks.

• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

• Assist with reports and audits as required by management.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in the construction industry and in an accounts payable role.

• Proficiency with Sage 300 software; Intacct knowledge is a bonus.

• Autodesk experience is a plus

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, general accounting, and vendor relations.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and knack for numerical accuracy.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent organization skills coupled with the ability to multitask and prioritize.

• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
