Naval Sea Systems Command PROJECT MANAGER in Mobile County, Alabama

Summary You will serve as a Project Manager in the assigned Waterfront Operations, Project office of Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) Gulf Coast in Mobile, AL. Responsibilities You will provide Project Management services in accordance with management direction and established Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) procedures. You will provide on-site technical consultations in all disciplines associated with the assigned projects and/or construction, conversion and/or repair of naval ships. You will conduct program management reviews, evaluate compliance with policy objectives and standards, monitor overall effectiveness of operations, and provide assistance in the solution of specific management and technical problems. You will recommend and plan improvements in organizational structure, manpower, staffing, personnel training, procedures, methods, and facilities. You will provide contract status updates to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Program Managers, NAVSEA SUPSHIP Directorate, fleet type commanders, prospective commanding officers and other commands. You will provide specialized assistance to team leaders and members to help them plan their projects, identify appropriate goals and objectives, build their team cohesiveness, maintain their focus, and conduct effective meetings. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Leading the coordination of shipbuilding production projects (e.g. construction, conversion, maintenance, repair) to ensure work is performed and completed within established deadlines.
