Overview USU Moab is looking for an English as a Second Language Instructor. They will be instructing the following: an 8-week ESL Course designed for adult beginners. Over eight weeks students will study the foundations of English, including grammar, vocabulary, and practical usage in daily scenarios. Each week is dedicated to a specific theme, from basic greetings and everyday conversations to more complex topics like health, work, and leisure. The course emphasizes real-world application, featuring interactive role-playing, cultural insights, and scenario-based learning.

Key features include daily journal assignments to reinforce writing skills, group discussions for improved fluency, conversation practice with a volunteer English speaker, and a final project. This course is for those looking to build a foundation in English for personal growth, travel, or professional advancement. The course will provide an environment where learners can take their first steps towards English proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Class Materials
  • Teach and Work with students 2 to 3 hours a week

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Certification to teach ESL
  • Ability to present engaging material
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Advertised Salary $2000.00 for the Semester

ADA Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
