GRAND COUNTY Commission Coordinator in MOAB, Utah

About the Position:

This role serves as the primary support staff member within the County Commission Administrator's Office. The Coordinator carries out a wide range of complex and confidential administrative duties to ensure the smooth daily operation of the office. The responsibilities of this position encompass various tasks related to public relations and communication. The Coordinator will also manage schedules for meetings, workshops, and other events, and assist with overseeing Grand County's special events.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides communication and constituent services, including screening a high volume of communications, independently managing sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment, and conducting research to respond effectively to information requests.
  • Overseeing public relations on behalf of the Commission and Commission Administration, educating the public on Commission happenings and events, and coordinating outreach using various social media platforms and community engagement forums.
  • Preparing, posting, and distributing commission agendas.
  • Preparation of various forms of correspondence, including public notices, reports, presentations, forms, and other essential documents. Coordinating all board and commission appointments and reappointments. This involves managing the appointment process and, when necessary, assisting departments in achieving county objectives.

Qualifications: Graduation from high school: and Three (3) years experience in performing administrative support duties including training related to word processing, office procedures, telephone skills, and interpersonal communications: or An equivalent combination of education and experience Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Must have a valid drivers license. day and may attend evening meetings as needed.
