Navigator RN - Radiology Oncology Unit - Providence St. Patrick Hospital Missoula, MT

The RN Cancer Care Program Navigator's primary function is to seamlessly guide cancer patients and their families through the health care system by providing disease-specific cancer education and information, as well as sharing knowledge in regard to treatment options, expediting patient access to diagnostic and treatment procedures, connecting survivors with appropriate resources, providing ongoing support to patient and family, responding to patient/family biopsychosocial needs and addressing issues of access to care as part of the interdisciplinary cancer navigation team. Collaborates closely with physicians, clinical trial coordinator, social work, patient financial coordinator(s), medication assistance staff, chaplains, dietician, genetic counseling, the Foundation and volunteers to provide comprehensive navigation services to patients, families and the community at large. The RN Cancer Care Program Navigator works collaboratively with the Tumor Registry staff to assist with and assure compliance for all cancer accredited programs. The RN Cancer Care Program Navigator works in concert with the patient and family as well as the physician and clinical team in providing services throughout all phases of the cancer continuum, including prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care. The RN Cancer Care Navigator will serve as a knowledgeable individual who will afford patients convenient access to needed cancer program services, facilities and equipment that may not be readily available or accessible without assistance or intervention on their behalf.

Shift details: This is a part-time, 0.8 FTE (32 working hours per week), day shift position. (Variable days of the week Monday- Friday, 8 am to 5 pm)

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: Montana Registered Nurse License
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Within 2 years of hire: Certification as a Breast Health Navigator
  • 3 years Acute clinical experience.
  • 2 years Oncology nursing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • Upon hire: OCN
