Southern Glazer's offers a competitive compensation package with an hourly rate of $85,000-$90,000 annually plus incentive. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will support SGWS’s key vision on driving value to customers and suppliers while eliminating nonvalue added activities. In this opportunity, you will play a pivotal role in creating a lean culture, establishing a one best way in our Supply Chain Operations, and maximizing cost opportunities through internal and external benchmarking.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead Process Improvement on critical issues with lean/six sigma tools such as 5S, root cause analysis, time and motion studies, across our warehouse and transportation network.

  • Assist with the tactical deployment of the CI program methodology. Manage project execution of top losses in the functional areas and assist in building the capability of the organization at a national level.

  • Develop and implement new or improved supply chain processes and systems.

  • Work with the data science team to map, establish and track key process metrics, to provide automated visibility to leaders across our network.

  • Conduct Value Stream Mapping Workshops to identify critical losses in current processes and/or to define new ways of working to achieve on time and in full deliveries to our customers.

  • Develop change management tools and organizational assessments to promote new platform/technology adoption.

  • Ensure improvements are sustained through time and deploy best practices across the network.

  • Support development opportunities for the divisions by delivering best in class training; mentoring; tracking skills development; providing recognition; and ensuring diversity awareness.

  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) in Engineering (ME, IE, other) or Operations Management and 3 years’ experience in Process Improvement.

  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is required – (Green belt required/Black belt preferred).

  • Process Improvement experience in a Total Performance Management (or related program)

  • Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long term savings

  • Experience in CPG or distribution industry is strongly preferred

  • Process or Value Stream Simulation knowledge is preferred

  • Microsoft Office Suite, analytical skills

  • Travel: Approximately 50%

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping

  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 50lbs
