The Role
Operates machines and tools used in manufacturing processes and resolve electrical and mechanical problems, to achieve production targets.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Performs routine component installations and maintenance. Maintains records of equipment usage, repair history, reliability and other similar factors.
Cooperates with other operators on the production line to ensure workflow stability.
Reads and interprets mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery. Addresses equipment failures, calibrates errors and reports them to management in a timely manner.
Sets up and runs machines to implement manufacturing processes occasionally serving as the lead technician.

Heavy Equipment Maintenance : Knowledge of techniques, procedures, and tools used in the maintenance of heavy equipment; ability to use this knowledge to identify, resolve and prevent issues in heavy equipment and maximize their performance.
Level Expert:
Champions the use of emerging tools and technologies for heavy equipment maintenance activities.
Develops heavy equipment maintenance strategy and schedule based on predictive and prescriptive maintenance methodologies that rely on advanced data analysis.
Establishes internal best practices, guidelines, and procedures for performing heavy equipment maintenance activities.
Leads discussions on the performance and ROI of heavy equipment maintenance processes; introduces necessary interventions to improve the efficiency of these processes.
Monitors industry trends related to heavy equipment maintenance and predict their future implications.
Oversees all heavy equipment maintenance and repair activities and provides technical consultancy on applying emerging tools and technologies for maintenance.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems : Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Level Extensive Experience:
Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment.
Applies specific techniques for isolating a problem and defining resolution approach.
Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
A background in industrial mechanics, engine mechanics, or mechatronics.
Experience or knowledge of Caterpillar Motoren / MaK engines and products, or comparable engines.
Experience with In Situ machining (e.g., crankshaft grinding, block repairs) or a willingness to learn.
Additional Information:
Relocation to Miramar, FL is not available
Up to 25% travel

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
