Job Summary

As the Production Planner, your primary responsibilities will be to create the production schedule, material requisitions and manage the master data to continuously improve and optimize service, inventory and costs within the assigned operations by working closely with cross-functional teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Continuously improve system-based planning processes and documentation.

• Work closely with the manufacturing team and value stream leadership to determine how best to build a production plan based on incoming orders and safety stock that balances service, inventory and cost to meet business targets.

• Analyze demand requirements and leverage SAP to plan raw material purchase requisitions as well as create production orders to support the production plan.

• Maintain SAP as the real time source of truth for transactional and master data to ensure

accurate delivery commitment dates for all customer and intercompany orders in SAP.

• Responsible for ensuring and maintaining accurate master data required to support our

planning systems with the goal of providing consistent and process driven management of all Supply Chain related data elements, including but not be limited to Material Masters (Safety Stock, Lot Size, Lead Times, etc.), Bills Of Materials and Routings.

• Responsible for appropriate documentation and maintaining information in appropriate

systems.

• Contact person for status on all orders and serve as liaison, providing ERP support by interfacing with the various disciplines.

• Knows, understands, reports on and improves key performance indicators for planning and manufacturing operations. This will require daily communication and participation in the tier process.

• Prepare capacity, supply plans and other supply-side data as part of the Sales and Operations Planning process.

• Manage department cycle counting program, provide leadership during site physical inventory and lead post-inventory improvement projects

• Participate in weekly supply chain reviews, where you will give updates regarding KPIs (service, inventory, etc.) output vs forecast, production schedules, capacity and material constraints, backorder recovery timelines, successes and areas for improvement

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Uses analytical/technical problem solving to develop new solutions to existing

problems/procedures.

• Ability to gather and analyze large datasets, interpret, and take appropriate actions to improve business performance.

• Ability to articulate thoughts, concepts, and ideas concisely in both formal and informal

situations to all levels of the organization.

• Experience with ERP systems and ERP planning modules, such as SAP Production Planning, Materials Management, Sales, and Distribution.

• Exceptional organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills to meet departmental needs, solve routine problems, make effective decisions, and perform various tasks with changing priorities and deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

• Strong regard for product quality and safety standards.

• Solid understanding of supply chain principles and tradeoffs. Able to articulate cause and effect of how various actions could influence metrics within supply chain scenarios.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required:

• College Degree (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters) in Supply Chain Management, Operations

Management, Logistics, or related major (or High School diploma with at least 2 years of

planning or related supply chain work experience)

• At least 2 years or more of planning or relevant supply chain work experience

Additional Information

Preferred:

• ASCM/APICS CPIM - Certified in Production and Inventory Management or other similar

certifications

Working Conditions

• 5% Travel

• Hybrid work structure: 3-4 days onsite
