Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Minnetonka, Minnesota
Description
We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the insurance industry in Minnesota. This role offers a contract-to-permanent employment opportunity where you'll handle various accounting tasks related to customer credit applications, maintain detailed customer records, and resolve customer inquiries. You'll also take appropriate actions on customer accounts when necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Efficiently process customer credit applications
• Keep detailed and accurate records of customer credit
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve them in a timely manner
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions
• Accurately enter approved invoices and other payment requests into the AP system
• Conduct daily payment runs
• Handle stop payments on checks/void/reissue payments when necessary
• Prepare cash receipts for AP refund checks
• Assist in reconciling Purchase Card AP transactions
• Organize and prepare payments for mailing, including matching attachments with appropriate payments
• Maintain a positive working relationship with vendors, branch, and corporate departments.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role within the Insurance industry.
• Proficiency in Account Coding, with the ability to accurately categorize invoices and expenses.
• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems, including the ability to learn new programs quickly.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services, for managing payroll and other financial processes.
• Knowledge of Concur for travel and expense management.
• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, for managing business processes.
• Demonstrated understanding of Accounting Functions, including the ability to manage financial records and transactions.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP), including the ability to manage vendor payments and reconcile accounts.
• Familiarity with Accrual Accounting, including the ability to record revenues and expenses when they are incurred, regardless of when cash is exchanged.
• Proficiency in Auditing, including the ability to review financial records for accuracy.
• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) for managing electronic payments and collections.
