Robert Half Staff Accountant in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description We are searching for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The primary function of this role will be to manage financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. The Staff Accountant will also be expected to participate in regular ledger maintenance, as well as manage records of bank statements and other financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the processing of customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency.

• Maintain updated and accurate records of customer credit.

• Monitor customer accounts and take action as appropriate.

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries as necessary.

• Manage the general ledger and assure it is up to date.

• Take part in the month-end close process to ensure timely completion.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data.

• Oversee grant accounting and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

• Maintain an understanding of the healthcare industry to inform financial decisions.

• Assist with other accounting duties as required. Requirements • Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.

• Minimum of one year of experience in an accounting role.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with the general ledger.

• Ability to prepare journal entries.

• Experience with month-end close procedures.

• Knowledge of grant accounting procedures.

• Familiarity with the healthcare industry is beneficial.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• Ability to adapt to new technologies and tools as they become available.
