Amazon Sr. Product Manager - Tech, Sort Tech in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

Sort Tech builds the technologies and services that enable manual and automated movement of packages across Amazon’s worldwide transportation facilities, including Fulfillment Centers, Inbound Receive Centers, Sort Centers, Amazon Air Gateways and Delivery Stations. We build visibility platforms that enable Operations to monitor and refine their volume and staffing, and optimize their processes. Our systems process millions of packages a day and ensure Amazon meets the customer delivery promise. Our mission is to build the most efficient and optimal transportation system on the planet using our engineering muscle as our biggest advantage.

We are looking for a Sr. Product Manager to the Sort Tech Labor and Capacity programs. You will work on key initiatives supporting the automation of our capacity planning systems and labor placement systems to improve productivity in our fulfillment centers, sort centers, and air hubs across the network.

Key job responsibilities

  • Write and present business cases (backed by strong research and analysis) in partnership with all stakeholder teams

  • Develop product, drive exercises, and plan resources for features to be delivered on time

  • Write product/business requirements and product specifications

  • Monitor project execution and ensure that the project delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality and in line with its target date, ensuring the overall integrity within the program

  • Be an excellent communicator, curious, highly motivated and effective within distributed teams

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
