When every second counts and performance reliability is a must - we are ready and able to serve today, tomorrow and into the future.Job Description Act as Lead Technician on large projects or system upgrades, capable of directing self and other assigned Project Technician's and able to mentor less experienced Technician's. Deliver post-sale implementation of voice and data communications systems. Perform specific system configuration, programming, optimization, testing, and documentation tasks. Work directly with other System Technologists, Technical Support, Product Groups, and/or others to characterize system defects during system implementation and, on occasion, during the maintenance phase. Team with Engineering, Project Management and Sales personnel to effectively maintain, optimize and support advanced communication systems which meet or exceed customer expectations. Responsibilities include the optimization, support, maintenance, testing and documentation of complex communications systems. Provide technical support of specialized systems and product applications, including advanced troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure. Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments. Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation with a focus on trend analysis and documentation of results. Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues. CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Total familiarity with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques. Very strong knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), must be proficient in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance systems including cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges. Capable of performing maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure and troubleshooting to resolve system/application related issues. Knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks Deliver a strong knowledge of standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as knowledge of packet-switching techniques Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access Strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola's customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision Able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations Excellent communications skills and always present a professional image. Experience with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems, and networking equipment Unique combinations of both strong multi-site RF communications systems and computer/networking skills are required. The ideal candidate must demonstrate high-level systems expertise and have a minimum of 4+ years of related experience with the following equipment: Motorola Base Stations (GTR series, Desktop, and etc.) Dispatch Consoles (MCC7500, and MCC7100 series) Computer IP Networks and Configuration RF Infrastructure Technologies: Motorola SmartZone, Smartnet, MCC Console Systems, ASTRO Conventional, Trunked equipment, P25, LMR, radios, Motorola Conventional, Secure Operations, and ASTRO A7.x Digital systems and installation procedures. Communications Test Equipment including: Communication System Analyzers, Ethernet Link test sets, T1 Test Sets, TIMS (Transmission Impairment Measurement Set), Digital RF Power Meter Ideally the individual should have at least one network certification: Network +, Security + or a related certification. CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS Candidate can live anywhere in the United States Extensive travel is required with up to 85% travel Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules Must be willing to obtain a DoD Top Secret-SCI Clearance Must be willing to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance Must have a current, valid driver's license and no traffic violations Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain background clearance as required by a US government customer. CompTIA Security+ or must be able to obtain it within the 1st year of employment. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers. #LI-CC1 Basic Requirements High School Diploma/GED AND 2+ years of professional experience in one of the following: LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking Equipment, Networking Infrastructure, IT Systems, Test Equipment, Military Experience, ASTRO, Motorola SmartZone, Smartnet, MCC Console Systems, Trunked equipment, P25, LMR, Motorola Conventional Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain background clearance as required by a US government customer.
