Sr. Financial Analyst

ABOUT YOU:

Provide all required management accounting and financial analyses for an organizational segment, such as a business unit or one or more product lines.

YOU HAVE:

  • Technical skills. Strong technical accounting skills combined with business acumen. Working/advanced level skills with Excel and Access. Preferred experience/proficiency with Oracle mainframe G/L systems.

  • Attention to detail. Analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple simultaneous tasks under deadline pressure.

  • Great communication skills. Ability to work effectively across multiple organizational levels. Ability to communicate technical issues in finance and accounting to a general business audience. Ability to negotiate skillfully and creatively to come up with value added solutions to business problems.

  • Autonomy. Ability to make sound business decisions based on a mixture of policy, situational analysis, experience and common sense.

  • Experience. 5 – 8 years’ progressive professional experience in Finance/Accounting. Preferred experience supporting sales organizations (leadership and representatives). Preferred experience working with sales managment teams and sales representatives.

  • Education. Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance. Preferred CPA, CMA or MBA.

    YOU WILL:

  • Support. Month-end close includes journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, bridges, and analytical summaries.

  • Update and maintain. Produce and analyze weekly key metrics for the assigned organizational segment. This includes analytical work for the business to explain impacts to plans and key projects. Support the online commission and deliver volume reporting system (Incorta/JFACTS) for independent reps. Assist reps with various report and transactional questions.

  • Develop. Create financial plans, overdraft status reports, and territory analyses to provide sales management with information on rep financial status. Calculate/execute transition benefit payments, estimates, and related accounting (actual, plan, and forecasts).

  • Advise. Quarterly forecasts and annual plan preparation. Work with cross-functional partners to create accurate and timely forecasts for the supported segment.

  • Strengthen. Manage the finance aspect of onboarding reps from contracts, system setup, and monthly draw setup, and ensure proper in-charge. Support sales rep succession planning and associated monthly transactions. Ensure that all necessary regulatory (audit, SOX) compliance measures are in place and taken.

  • Help. Support various business initiatives, ad-hoc projects, and other analytical work. Support various rep questions, sales management questions, rep award calculations and delivered volume reporting questions.

  • Typical/expected % of overnight travel. Less than one week/year = <2%

Our Finance team combines traditional financial planning, analysis and accounting with collaborative business decision-making and strategy, directly supporting leadership in Marketing, Sales, Digital & Operations. Team members are expected to analyze data and provide recommendations across our specialized products lines including Yearbooks, Class Rings, Graduation Products and Professional Sports.
