POSITION SUMMARY:Please apply online using a laptop or desktop computer.As the Senior Manager of Data Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the strategy, execution, and support of cutting-edge NMDP data & analytics solutions. The role is responsible for leading the team in the design, development, and delivery of operational intelligence, predictive modeling and machine learning solutions. This person will help set the vision for the team function, advancing internal processes, and partnering closely with stakeholders to deliver proactive, value-add business insights focused on advancing business performance. As a Senior Manager, you will play a critical role in harnessing the power of data to drive innovation, optimize strategies, and deliver actionable insights, ultimately contributing to our company's continued growth and success.This individual will have tremendous passion for data and leveraging it to create material value for the organization. This position is hybrid at our Minneapolis World Headquarters. #LI-HybridCheck out our video S aving Lives: It's the Best Job EverACCOUNTABILITIES:Delivering Business Analytics Capabilities:Offers visionary thinking and strategic insight to shape and construct the enterprise's data strategy and vision.Partners closely with leaders of business units to deliver value add insights to inform future business planning, improve operations, increase efficiencies, and save more lives.Develop a deep understanding of available data to drive analysis and answer questions - prepare and champion business cases to expand data sets including 3rd party data assets.Strengthen and expand data science capabilities including methodology, best practices, and engagement model that delivers material outcomes including predictive models.Promote and deliver a wide range of analytics techniques such as data aggregation, mining, profiling, statistics, forecasting, and predictive analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to solve relevant business needs.Deliver varying analyses, key insights, and recommendation through compelling visualizations to support key customers across the entire value chain.Identifies opportunities for increased efficiencies. Designs and leads process and technology improvements to optimize efficiency and performance of the team.Partner with other leaders to develop and implement programs and resources to enhance data fluency across the organization, ensuring that team members at all levels are proficient in understanding and utilizing data effectively.Creates and maintains a solid understanding of the analytics industry - key advancements, emerging trends, and challenges in the space.Leading People:Directly supervises 4-7 data scientist and analyst team members in day-to-day activities to ensure the timely delivery and consistent quality.Hires, trains, mentors, supervises, and evaluates the performance of staff.Analyzes strengths and growth opportunities in staff and creates environment of continual learning and growth using short and long-term goal setting.Fosters a strong performance culture; continually assesses engagement levels and devises actionable retention plans.Manages and leads 3rd party, contractor or offshore team members when needed.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:Extensive experience in leveraging statistical models to identify patterns and trends; expertise and/or demonstrated experience with business analytics tools such as SAS or R.AI, machine learning and algorithmic background with good understanding one or more of the following areas: supervised & unsupervised learning, embeddings, reinforcement learning, deep learning, Gen AIStrong un erstanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices, including proficiency in SQL.Data visualization and dash-boarding experience using Tableau, Looker, or similar.Manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources including collecting, assembling data, cleansing, formatting, and validation of results.Ability to:Establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop, and execute strategies, and track and measure results.Prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.Communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.Effectively write, present, and communicate analytics results with recommendations to leadership across the organizationDemonstrate a high degree of both technical and business aptitude.Demonstrate superior analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.Build, lead, and motivate high performance teams.Education and/or Experience:7 years of Analytics or Data Science experience, including at least 3 years of direct people management and leadership experience.3 years professional hands-on experience operating in a data analyst / data scientist capacity; utilizing varying tools and techniques such as data mining, statistical modeling reporting tools, and querying databases to translate data into actionable insights.Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent experience; MBA desired.DEI COMMITMENT:As part of our values, we are committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion at NMDP.
