Let's Redefine Possible SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer I-Solar with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide electrical technical support throughout the entire construction project. Provide electrical engineering design drawings, including preparatory meetings, and QA/QC Manage and lead the electrical engineering design and equipment procurement through the use of submittals, transmittals, and requests for information Provide technical expertise to all parties concerned Responsibilities: Provide technical lead and support for electrical portions of work project Determine the best layout of the collection system; including consideration of constraints such as overhead/underground, follow roads/cross country, and junction box locations Review manufacturer's data to determine the extent of scope for the electrical portion of the project; including wiring requirements and electrical characteristics (i.e. grounding requirements, power factor ranges, lightning protection requirements, generator outputs, etc.) Verify that construction understands the scope of the project during the bidding process and provides electrical engineering resources throughout the project Communicate with local utilities to ensure the project can interconnect to the electrical grid Perform loss calculations (100% output/annualized) Develop one-line diagrams of the collection a system and substations, as well as standard details of electrical construction that are typical to Mortenson projects QUALIFICATIONS Strong teamworkorientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks Possess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices Microsoft Office, project and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies Minimum three years in electrical construction management or electrical design Working knowledge of the NEC code and NE safety code is a plus Basic understanding of construction techniques and project management practices Current driver's license Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
