Position Purpose

The Sr. Analyst of Promotions and Pricing will analyze large datasets to uncover trends, partnering with data science teams to leverage advanced statistical models for estimating price elasticity, collaborating with team to integrate insights into business strategies, and ensuring the accuracy of elasticity models through data validation. Additionally, this role will support promotional analytics using available analytical tools, communicate findings and recommendations to all stakeholders effectively, and interpret analytics outputs for actionable insights.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and interpreting large datasets to identify trends and patterns related to promotional effectiveness and elasticity of demand.

  • Leverage advanced statistical models to estimate price elasticity and other key metrics and provide input to data science teams evolve capabilities and improve model predictability.

  • Partner with data science team to evolve modeling based on business needs and provide data validation and quality assurance support to ensure the accuracy and reliability of promotional elasticity models.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate promotion analytics & elasticity insights into business strategies and decision-making processes.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

  • Support stakeholders by interpreting analytics outputs to draw actionable conclusions.

  • Manage test & scale analytical practice through sophisticated test design & setup and analysis & evaluation to improve experimentation capabilities.

  • Manage promotions & pricing analytics capabilities and continue to evolve the tools and methodologies to create a best-in-class promotional measurement & evaluation practice.

  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in promotional measurement techniques, elasticity modeling, econometrics, and demand forecasting to continuously improve promotional measurement capabilities.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in quantitative or business field, such as statistics, math computer science, economics, data science, or marketing

  • 6+ years of experience in data analysis, advanced analytics, data science, or with preferred experience within promotions & pricing analytics

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerBI, and other reporting tools, as applicable

  • Technical skillsets in SQL, Python, Databricks, Azure, Synapse, or SAS preferred.

  • Experience leveraging machine learning and predictive models to drive business outcomes & objectives.

  • Experience managing and growing an analytics capability/program, with experience doing so within promotions and pricing preferred.

  • Experience with Marketing, Media, & Ad measurement through econometrics and Marketing Mix Modeling preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Robust understanding of retail business operations, promotion strategies, and consumer behavior

  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing business challenges using data-driven methodologies.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience within Retail industry a plus

Working Conditions

  • Limited travel as required by business needs

  • This role is Hybrid offering a balance of remote work with the opportunity to collaborate on-site at Sleep Number's Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
