In this role, your main responsibility will be to develop strong relationships and implement strategies between assigned accounts/markets and other divisions within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Your goal will be to achieve growth and exceed revenue targets across the division. By promoting our extensive range of products and services, you will assist customers in optimizing the value they derive from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

This role is remotely located in the Mid-West.

Key requirements

  • Develop a business expansion plan to increase account presence in assigned accounts and proactively determine cross-divisional commercial strategies.

  • Build relationships with senior leaders within select accounts to advance Thermo Fisher's access and opportunities.

  • Create account leverage across the breadth of the portfolio.

  • Own the business objectives for the segment strategy, including financial objectives, governance, and customer and compliance metrics.

  • Develop and align contract structure and lead contractual negotiations for assigned accounts.

  • Define opportunities and initiatives to improve share of spend with Thermo Fisher.

  • Identify potential obstacles and areas for expanding customer reach, and communicate findings to relevant team members.

  • Analyze customer dynamics and adjust strategies accordingly based on market conditions and new areas of focus.

  • Understand the key operating cycles and imperatives of the client.

  • Use the customer relationship management system to accurately predict and communicate sales goals.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. degree required, with equivalent experience in a scientific or business-related field also accepted.

  • MBA or professional business education highly preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Previous sales, deal design, and key account or relationship management experience

  • Experience within the life sciences industry strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze financial data effectively.

  • Proven track record of successfully capturing business from key accounts.

  • Demonstrated success engaging effectively with senior leaders.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Minimum of 8+ years sales experience, including commercial account leadership.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-value accounts in a matrix environment.

  • Skilled collaborator capable of effectively coordinating activities and influencing actions within a team and across the company.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Experience in complex deal structuring.

  • Motivated and committed to achieving goals.

  • Travel requirement 25-50%

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $115,000.00–$156,000.00.
